What is the PH balance?
     PH stands for "potential of hydrogen". When debating
    the raw food diet, it is very important to understand the
    PH balance of our bodies and how it works.
    Think of it as a balance. On a scale from 0 to 14,
    acidic being 0 and alkaline being 14. Our bodies
    should be somewhere in the middle, about 7 (neutral).





    As part of our normal metabolism, the body produces
    an acidic ash, therefore, we need to eat alkaline foods
    to neutralize the already acidic ash. When we eat a
    diet of mostly acidic foods, our body has to use all of
    it's alkaline reserves trying to rid itself of acidic ash,
    which it does by pulling minerals from our bones and
    other organs.
    So not only does our body have to overwork, it also
    has to steal vital nutrients from different parts of our
    body to help rid the acids. When those nutrients
    have run out, it then has to store all excess acids
    within fat cells creating an over- toxic, tired,
    rundown, fat body!  We have then experienced
    acidosis and our cells are sick. Symptoms may
    include fatigue, poor skin, hair and nails, obesity,
    muscle soreness, colds, and many others. Some may
    go undetected for years. I have tried to wrap this up in
    a nutshell. Basically, an alkaline balanced body is a
    healthy body!






    What does the PH balance have to do
    with the raw food diet?

    Our basic American diet consists of lots of
    preservatives, pesticides, chemicals and other
    ingredients that we cannot even pronounce. Most of us
    want to start eating healthy because we already have
    some sort of health problem or are overweight due to
    being too acidic. When you are planning on starting a
    raw food diet from an acidic state, your body will be
    detoxing for a little while. Sometimes people will
    experience headaches or other side effects when they
    start a healthy eating plan. This is common, but NOT
    normal in any way. Please read my article on detoxing.
    In order to bring our bodies to an alkaline state of
    health, we should do it carefully and sometimes slowly
    depending on the state that your body is in. I highly
    recommend  buying some PH strips and testing
    yourself before starting a predominately alkaline diet.

you where different foods are in the scale.  After you
are on a raw food diet for a while and have biologically
cleansed your body, you will never have to worry
about your PH balance. Eating raw food keeps your
body on the alkaline side of the scale which allows you
to heal naturally and fight infections before they have a
